ND set to vote in favor of Parliamentary com't to probe loans to parties, mass media

Main opposition New Democracy (ND) party, via its spokesman on Thursday, said it will vote in favor of a proposal by the ruling SYRIZA party to establish a Parliamentary committee of inquiry tasked

with investigating bank loans allocated over the years to political parties and major mass media outlets.

Spokesman Giorgos Koumoutsakos said his party now expects SYRIZA and its small rightist-populist coalition partner, the AN.EL party, to accept ND’s proposal for another Parliament committee to probe the “conditions that led to the catastrophic developments in the economy last summer”.
